Locomotive Number 4
15-11-24

Come ride behind

The smallest loco in our fleet
She/He is also considered by some to be
The grumpiest
The smelliest
The noisiest
The Most misbehaved
This is Locomotive No4
and to be honest it's not as bad as this writer makes out, it just seems like it.
The first gentle roll of the wheel by Jay
Now he's getting the hang of it.
This is the other test driver going through the station.
Steve approchng the point to go on the inner loop.
Over the past year nearly everybody within the club has fettled with Loco No4 but to no availe but as you can see above No4 is now working thanks to our new member Lawrence who fettled some life back into No4.

Sunday 10 September 2023

Number 4 was taken out from her stable. She did one lap (click below picture) of the outer loop and was found to be low on petrol.

More motion lotion was obtained and she set out again only to fail in the loop.
No4 has given up for now due to (as an educated guess) it's clogged carburetor jets) so for now it will be stored until a carburetor man can fix it.

Seen here on one of its few outings on a private running day to evaluate its performance. Having been round the track a few times, it was the consensus of opinion that bringing Loco No4 out once in a while is just about ok but it needs a lot of work (as you can see by Station Supervisors white hair) before it can go into frequent passenger service.

Please note
Please, this loco can lurch, jerk, yank and bang its way around we consider that is NOT suitable for single riders under 7, we hope you feel the same way.
So if No4 Loco is out please make sure you understand that you ride behind this loco at your own risk. Please be aware of this before you set out behind our Locomotive Number 4
