In the background you can see the |
leak from around the fire hydrant |
So the men in hard hats came |
12 April 2023
came out to fix it
26 April 2023 And left it like this. |
26 April 2023
Big hole and a large mound of earth.
Its stayed this way for two weeks then suddenly it got bigger and extra shuttering and even more water was escaping (see 4 June) |
Moving on to the 10 May 2023 it had moved on this far |
Same day different angle |
4 June 2023 Its now turned into a "HUGE" hole. |
4 June 2023 which has loads of water in it. |
4 June 2023
We STILL cant drive passed that gap.
11 June 2023 Nothing's happening yet |
14 June 2023 If you look closely you can see |
14 June 2023 water movement from the leak |
14 June 2023 The edges of the hole has collapsed |
21 June 2023 Less water in the hole as it was pumped on to the, inner track |
21 June 2023 basin of our field causing flooding to the field and not for the first |
21 June 2023 time. That mesh is even nearer, still stopping the trains from running. |
02 July 2023 The nice men in hard hats to these next four pictures as it was a work |
02 July 2023 site. This is the first and smaller hole to the left of the bigger hole. |
02 July 2023 As you can see this is much clearer than the smaller hole. |
To stop further collapse of the edge of the hole the men in hard hats have, driven shuttering into the ground to help support the ground underneath the track and try to stop further landslides. |
02 July 2023 How close the hole came to the edge of our raised track. |
05 July 2023 More works happens to the hole. Water is now being bypassed by the |
05 July 2023 blue pipe. There's now shuttering to protect the track. |
05 July 2023 A very muddy hole, that's still oozing water from somewhere. |
16 July 2023 Don't panic this is not water from the pipe its rain water. |
16 July 2023 The shutting has been cut down. Because this hole |
16 July 2023 is lower than the ground around it all the water drains into it. |
In the space of 6 days, there was a concerted push by the men in hard hats to finish the the new pipe work and fill in the hole. |
The hole is gone,
it's finally filled in,
it's been covered over,
its been buried.
Our trains can now drive past as the hole's gone. All it needs now is some grass seed to be laid down.
"YAY"
